Nokia has launched a low-cost mobile Nokia 2690 in India. This new low cost mobile is targeted to counteract the huge sale of low cost mobiles from Indian brands. Nokia 2690 is missing dual SIM option, but has great features like Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, Stereo FM radio, Expandable memory up to 8GB and VGA Camera.
Nokia 2690 is available in Graphite, White Silver, Hot pink and Blue colour. It has up to 335 Hrs standby battery. Nokia 2690 also has 1.8 inch TFT display with resolution 128 x 160 pixels, audio and video players and internet access.
This Mobile costs approximately Rs.2749 in India.

Research In Motion (RIM) launched its Blackberry Pearl 3G in India. Pearl 3G is the smallest Blackberry smartphone yet in India. RIM India will sell Blackberry Pearl 3G in two variants – one is 9100 that will come with 20-key QWERTY keyboard and other is 9105 with a conventional 14-key alphanumeric keypad. The phone sports a 624MHz processor with 256MB RAM, 3.2MP camera with flash, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, optical trackpad, microSD card slot and 1150mAh battery capable of giving up to 5.5 hours of talk time on 3G network.
The BlackBerry Pearl 3G price in India is yet to be revealed.

Design competitions are the venue where each individual can make their imaginations into a reality. But most of the time implementing these concepts into real life is difficult. Still new and outstanding design concepts are born day by day. LG’s recently concluded Design the Future contest required contestants to draw up “the future of mobile communication.” LG Flutter – this may very well be one of the most radically different designs seen in a concept phone.

Apple’s iPhone 4 is right now the talk of the town and its launch in India is imminent. The good news is that Apple has promised to roll out iPhone 4 to 88 countries within September and India is among one of them. In India iPhone 3G was launched by Vodafone & Airtel between 35k to 40k. Vodafone will launch iPhone 4, the thinnest smart phone in the world, in India in the coming months. However, no other details (price) are published yet.

Research In Motion (RIM) and TATA Indicom launched Blackberry Curve 8530 in India. Blackberry Curve is a CDMA version and it is the first mobile in India with Optical Track pad and built in Wi-Fi. It features high speed network access, GPS, and dedicated media keys which are integrated along the top of the handset. It has Full-QWERTY keyboard, 3G-enabled for roaming on 3G CDMA networks, Access to email, messaging (IM, SMS, BlackBerry Messenger) and popular social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
This Mobile is available in India at a price around Rs.19,000.

The Blackberry Storm is the first touch enabled Blackberry phone, with large high resolution screen, better connectivity, and new Surepress technology that gives keypad like typing experience for users. The new storm 2 from blackberry comes with blackberry enterprises server 5.0 that facilitates users to manage email folders, access remote files, view attachments in the calendar and forward appointments. I t has 3.2 Mega pixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities. Other features in blackberry storm 2 include a built-in GPS, V Cast Music with Rhapsody media player for videos, pictures and music.
The price of the mobile comes around Rs.32,000.

Video chat is one of those technologies that seemed to take forever to get a foothold in enterprise settings. Video chatting become more commonplace with the addition of video to the free Skype program, and most notebook computers sold today have integrated web cams for video chatting. Nowadays mobile phones are launched with lot of abilities, they should also put the ability for such chatting. There is no mistaking that the time is ripe to get into the mobile video chatting.

HTC announced their latest smart phone, HTC wildfire. HTC wildfire is a HTC-sense based Android phone which is integrated with Social Networking. The design of Wildfire resembles the Desire, but the Wildfire has a smaller size. This mobile has TFT capacitive touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom capability and supports 16M colors. The size of the mobile is 3.2 inches QVGA. The device also comes with features like Sense UI, Multi-touch support, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and turn-to-mute and lift-to-dim-out a call.
This Mobile will be available from August 2010.

Nokia’s N900 launch in India is imminent, as nokia has started social media marketing for N900. This is the Nokia’s first mobile running in Linux based OS, “Maemo”. Nokia N900 is also called as Internet tablet. This mobile is featuring with a huge 3.5-inch screen and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Nokia N900 has a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, LED flash with 3X digital zoom and GPS. Looks like iPhone 3GS is going to have a tough time competing against the N900.
The phone will be available in the later part of June 2010 at a price around Rs.30,639.

Dual-SIM support is one of those things, that Nokia keeps getting asked for. Finally Nokia has unveiled their dual-SIM functionality mobile phone the Nokia C series. Two of the new offerings are dual-SIM solutions and the other two offer good connectivity and multimedia. The Nokia C1-00, C2-00 are the Dual Sim phones by Nokia. The Nokia C1-01, C1-02 are the good connectivity and multimedia mobiles. This is where the new Nokia numbering scheme becomes a little confusing.
The Nokia C1-00 is expected in the third quarter, while the other two in the last quarter of this year.
